From idea to international opportunities: how Pitch Day International went

The multi-project showcase SWC Field continues to expand. The first project of the showcase, Atlas, has already been launched, and on October 13, the second Pitch Day International took place. This time, the broadcast was open to all partners of the SWC community.

Participants got acquainted with two technological projects and their founders even before these projects potentially appeared on the showcase.

New Format: Expert Panel

The main difference of the second pitch day was the expert panel. Founders not only presented their projects but also answered experts' questions live.

The panel included experts - regional curators. The main expert of the broadcast was co-founder SWC Alexey Sukhodoev.

The presentations were available in all broadcast languages for the first time, so each participant could not only listen to the speeches but also view and read the presentations in their own language in real time.

Broadcast Projects

Future Cow (Latin America). Founder Leonardo Vieira presented a technology for producing dairy proteins without animal involvement. The technology has already been tested in pilot production, and the team is preparing to scale up to industrial production.

Experts asked questions about the project's financial plan: what development stages are planned and for how long the team's resources are allocated. A separate question concerned demand: are there dairy producers willing to test Future Cow protein.

Circa Biotech (Middle East). Dr. Haythem Riahi spoke about a technology that converts food waste into raw material for sustainable aviation fuel, and about plans to expand production to 70,000 tons per year.

Experts discussed patent protection with the team: what exactly it protects and how difficult it would be for competitors to replicate the technology. They also asked about the roadmap for scaling up to 2030 and the main risks regarding timelines.

How SWC Selects Projects

During the broadcast, participants learned how the comprehensive due diligence process works, which each project undergoes before being presented to the community. It includes four areas:

1. Technology audit. Independent specialized engineers and scientists verify whether the technology and prototype work and how well they are protected by patents.
2. Financial and legal audit. The structure of legal entities, intellectual property rights, and transparency of financial flows are checked.
3. Market analysis. Market size (TAM, SAM, SOM), demand, competitors, and the project's ability to capture its market share are assessed.
4. Team assessment. The experience of the founders and their ability to bring the project to a commercial result are studied.

Community opinion is taken into account

SWC acts as an expert guide: showing a map of opportunities, but not dictating the route. After each project, participants answered a short survey. Their evaluations and questions are taken into account when deciding whether projects will reach an official release on the SWC Field showcase.
